...Okay, you nearly lost all credibility when you brought up the final battle at Jusenkyo, because, like so many other would-be analysts of this series, you have made the mistake of using the FAN translation of the manga. What Ranma *actually* says in that panel is that he placed saving Akane's life over curing himself, not that he stopped caring about his curse in and of itself. You just managed to save yourself by noting that the next chapter suggests that what he said was yet another case of Ranma trying to "look cool" in the face of adversity. But seeing what Ranma goes on to do several pages later, I think there really is no validity in any argument that Ranma wouldn't prefer to be cured.

One thing a lot of people fail to take into account when making analyses of this series is that it was essentially Urusei Yatsura 2.0 - an episodic slapstick sitcom/romcom hybrid with an urban fantasy backdrop. A lot of the... "inferences" that come into play from the series can actually be explained by Takahashi having a bad tendency to just throw random things into current story without considering how they would realistically impact either future stories or the setting as a whole, as well as to deal with conflicts of logic (such as "why doesn't Ranma just leave for China") by straight up ignoring them. Ranma doesn't get cured because the author didn't WANT him to get cured, and so he just ignores obvious logical decisions. We are talking about a series that starts with no known cure for Jusenkyo curse, then introduces the idea that Jusenkyo can be used to cure itself (via the Instant Nanniichuan storyline), shows Instant Nanniichaun being a temporary cure for Ranma & Genma, and then introduces the idea of Jusenky curses fusing via Pantyhose Taro. This series isn't One Piece; the strength of the characters in no way should be taken as evidence that there's some kind of underlying plan or logic behind the series as a whole. It's like an anime/manga version of the Looney Tunes.

i can honestly say the grind in 256 can be cumbersome but i actually don't hate the game, especially for someone like me who actively enjoys survival type how long can you last games. Sure, the missions can be a pain but it's a game i would probably play in bursts rather than binge. It's not for everyone for sure though

LOL, the third or fourth time I went to see this back in 1999, I was tripping on acid. The final battle reminded me of a cutout animation, like South Park, and I just remember staring at that one Jedi's super long neck during the council meeting on coruscant.

I like how you are able to match the instrumentals of the Pac-Man World games to a tee. This just feels like it would be from a 4th game in the series even if it's not part of your fanmade Pac-Man World 4.

I wanna take a second to thank The Retro Hour and IGN's interviews with Julian Eggebrecht, Retro Gamer Magazine's Turrican profile issue, and Digital Foundry's interview with Chris Huelsbeck as they provided a lot of great information that most videos about this series miss. Revisiting this video now, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, but my main regret is that I should have properly cited those sources on day one. Since then I got my hands on the Retro Gamer issue on Rogue Squadron and that had some information that I didn't know about, like how Microsoft tried to incentivize LucasArts to move Rogue Leader to the Xbox. Definitely give that a read too! Also the Turrican Documentary Blu Ray that came with the SLG Turrican Collector's Edition revealed that the motion capture animations for the pilots in Rogue Leader were reused from their cancelled 3D Turrican revival, Thornado. I'm hoping that documentary gets a wider release in the future because it's also worth a watch!

The last few years have been kind of a Turrican renaissance. Loved the feature. If you Turricans, you have to give Gunlord X a shot. You’ll fall in love. Another Turrican inspired game that was actually ‘lost code’ for decades was released a few years ago. It’s called Ultracore and it’s Turrican to the core. A bit dull, but worth collecting. Finally, Valfaris is what would’ve happened if Turrican carried on, perhaps as a Sega Saturn game. It’s one of the all time greats. Look forward to your thoughts on them.

Loved it. One of the greatest series of my life! Mega Turrican is my GOAT. Here’s hoping they bring it back as either an M’vania or a brand new game.

After rewatching the movies (up to The Last Jedi because that movie was pants to me), this is STILL the best beatdown of the Sequels. EDIT: I'm serious. This is the best. Especially the part where you create a bogus synopsis for a Back to the Future Part IV (which we're unfortunately getting in a reboot, oh noes) to make your point.
